The season of Lent takes us on a spiritual journey—from Ash Wednesday to Good Friday. It is a time of extended preparation, as we seek to focus our eyes on the cross and the power of Jesus’ death for the forgiveness of sins. Then finally, on Resurrection Sunday, we rejoice in Jesus’ victory over death. Christ is risen!
As you celebrate the joy of Easter, let these short devotions remind you of the power and purpose believers have in Jesus’ death and victorious resurrection.
We celebrate the amazing truth that although Jesus was dead, he’s now alive forevermore. Christ Jesus rose victorious over death.
The resurrection is God's way of announcing that our life does not have to be a one-way journey to the cemetery.
The resurrection of Christ is earth-shaking news. Fear of the Lord is appropriate in our life-changing joy.
As hard as life may be, we can be assured that death, loneliness, and despair do not have the final victory.
Has anything changed in the past 2,000 years since Jesus' resurrection? Are things any better than they were before?
In this two-part Groundwork series, explore Matthew’s perspective on the events of Christ’s death and resurrection, including wisdom on facing our guilt and doubts, recognizing the significance of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, and living faithfully as followers of Jesus Christ.
We pray that your spirit would be refreshed, refocused, and renewed this Easter season. Christ is risen, indeed!
