If you’ve visited TodayDevotional.com recently, you may have noticed a totally new experience. We just launched our first major refresh of the website since 2015. After spending the last few months designing and developing an improved Today experience just for you, I wanted to highlight a few of the major improvements.
While the functionality of our previous website stood the test of time, the bold multi-color design began to show its age and had even become a distraction. The goal of this redesign was to make it as easy as possible for Today users to accomplish the main action they come to the website to accomplish. In this latest iteration, the design is geared almost solely towards helping you either read or listen to the day’s devotion. A bulk of the design energy for this site was spent choosing a calming font that is both easy and enjoyable to read.
Did you know that we record each and every Today daily devotion for listening? If you didn’t, you’re not alone. On our previous website, the audio component was one of the features that was most underserved, and we’re happy to report that it is featured more prominently in the new design. The option to listen to the daily devotion audio is particularly helpful for auditory learners and anyone with a visual impairment.
As our archive of past devotions and blogs continues to grow, we want to make sure that you can access this content as conveniently as possible. We’ve drastically improved the speed of our devotional library search function. So the next time you have to lead devotions for a small group or church meeting, or if you’re looking for devotions on a particular topic—feel free to head over to the library and search for by keyword, Bible verse, or phrase that comes to mind!
Pastors from the Christian Reformed Church have been writing content for the Today daily devotional for over 70 years. While the technology we use to consume the content has changed over time, we continue to share the timeless story of God’s love for us. We pray that the Today devotions will continue to refresh, refocus, and renew your life in Christ.
