Peter the Apostle

The apostle Peter is one of the most fascinating characters in the New Testament.

The gospels tell us that he was one of Jesus’ closest disciples. Peter was an interesting character who asked Jesus lots of questions, made some of the boldest declarations, and often took the boldest actions. His weaknesses at times also toppled him in defeat.

Throughout this month, let’s study Peter through stories in the gospels and his letters to the church. Through Peter, we learn a lot about Jesus and ourselves, and we learn that Jesus loves us in our victories and even in our defeats.

This month’s author, Kurt Selles, is the director of ReFrame Ministries, which publishes these devotions. Kurt has served as a missionary in Taiwan and China and taught missions. Kurt and his wife, Vicki, have three adult children.

As you read the Today devotions this month, may you be refreshed, refocused, and renewed in God’s Word!
