When you hear the word ARMOR, what pictures come to mind? Maybe you think of a museum displaying suits of chain mail and steel helmets, or maybe a movie featuring knights fighting valiantly with swords and shields. Or maybe an astronaut in a cumbersome space suit that protects from the sun’s rays. Or maybe something as simple as “Armor All,” a cleaner I spray on my car tires.
The apostle Paul describes “the full armor of God” in Ephesians 6:10-17. That armor is made up of the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, protected feet, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and “the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”
This kind of armor is used to protect us against all kinds of evil in the world. And it’s this armor that Pastor John details this month, using the passage in Ephesians 6 as well as other scriptures to show us how we can “Stand in God’s Strength.”
John has pastored a church, and has also served with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) in Hawaii. Presently he and his family live in New Jersey. If you want to hear Pastor John share some of his thoughts about writing on this topic, you can hear and read his thoughts on our blog.
