The Bible: A Story of Beauty

What’s the Bible all about? How would you answer that question? Some might say that it’s a story of redemption. Others might point to the themes of kingship from beginning to end. Still others might highlight the way that God cares for his people from Genesis to Revelation.

This month, let’s focus on The Bible: A Story of Beauty. God created a beautiful world. Human sin brought struggle, suffering, death, and destruction into that world. God’s love, however, is so beautiful that it reaches beyond our sin to provide the beautiful sacrifice of Jesus. And Jesus calls us to follow him in a beautiful life of service. What’s more, we look forward to the day when Jesus will return and the beauty in and throughout all of God’s creation will be restored.

Beauty is not just on the surface; it’s present everywhere in the greatest story ever told.

Our author for June, Rev. Rebecca Jordan Heys, is a pastor in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is married to Kyle Heys, and they have two children.
