‘Great Is Thy Faithfulness’

By Kurt Selles

February 28, 2026

When you hear the word faithfulness, what do you think of?

This month’s set of meditations focuses on God’s faithfulness to his people—all who believe in the Lord and trust in his promises. The story of God’s love and care for us is presented in the Bible, where we read of God’s plan to bring redemption to the world and to bless all nations through his people, from whom the Savior of the world has come. That Savior is Jesus Christ, whose birth was foretold in one of the Bible’s earliest chapters.

Let’s reflect together on how God worked faithfully for generations to bring about his salvation, and how the Lord welcomes, leads, and guides us into full life in his kingdom today.

This month’s author, Rev. Jul Medenblik, is a former attorney who was called to pastoral ministry and became the church-planting pastor of a congregation in New Lenox, Illinois. Since 2011, he has served as the seventh president of Calvin Theological Seminary, which, together with Calvin University, is celebrating 150 years of God’s faithfulness in their history as the educational institutions of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (see calvinseminary.edu/150th). Jul and his wife, Jackie, have been married for over 40 years and are blessed with two adult children and a son-in-law.

As you read the Today devotions this month, may you be refreshed, refocused, and renewed in God’s Word!
